Canal st Martin and cows

Miracle of the day

I had breakfast!!!

Monday

Just got home from a night out with mom - chicken wings at the great canadian and a couple of drinks with emilia and le parents.

Mom brought some stuff for me from Sweden, including candy (sweden does have the best candy in the world after all) a coffeemaker (thanks dad!!) and some papers from my bank. One saying that I have 1200 euros on my account, which would be very nice if it were true..

Off to bed now - mom's looking forward to going out to get us breakfast from le boulangerie tomorrow, so now I just want to go to sleep and wake up to freshly baked baguettes and croissants!

Nighty night loves

Paris visite

Mom is finally here, hooray!

They say we look a lot alike...

Sunday, Sacre Coeur and snails

Saturday!

Now we're off to dinner with Emilias parents, then drinks and dancing!

Happy saturday loves

And then came the rain

Friday!

My latest big love, hairband from Zara

Pics en retard

Hello my darlings!

Today le parents of Emilia are coming to town, our place looks picture perfect and the sun is shining.

Since I don't have anything exciting to share right now (unless you are extremely interested in how I wash my hair, what the clouds outside of my window looks like and the fact that I think I'm allergic to something in the spring-air), I'll post some pics from our pre-stomachflu-party, enjoy!

The curse of the cocktails

I woke up this morning, trés confused. I couldn't remember when we had bought a widescreen tv.. and a black cat. Hm.. and moved. It took a little while before the pieces came together.

Sipping a cocktail at Emilias last night turned into sipping a much larger quantity of cocktails, and ending up at the Highlander. Running in to old friends, catching up over beers. After catching up over a pitcher of margherita, that is.

I wobbled home in the morning, very excited about my idea to adopt the very cute cat I had just met. I'm still very excited actually, just need to arrange a little cat-napping.

Now - dinnertime!

A happy (cat-)napper

Nostalgia with P.P and N.N

Before I hop out on the town I need to share this little dialogue with you guys - it was months ago and I haven't thought of it since. I just re-discovered it on Emilias blog, and I feel the strong need to spred it:

So.. We're at a party, in a pretty fancy apartment. We're sitting on a couch sipping on a glass of wine (well, necking bottles of beer..), next to us are two baltic-looking guys.

Me: Just look at those guys, they have to be russian. The one to the left is probably called Pjotr or something...
Emilia: Haha, yeah.. (goes quiet for a little bit... and then) - EY, PJOTR!

-

The guy on the left turns around looking confused and starts searching the room. We were just doing our best not to die of laughter...

We're terribly smooth, the pair of us.

Easy, breazy

As previously stated, my morning blues were quite quickly washed away.

All it took was stepping outside in the crisp spring-air, and finding the latest Vogue already on the stands, yay!

Morning moodiness looong gone

Just got home from work - the weather was so incredibly beautiful I felt I just had to take a long detour on the way home, just to get the chance to cross a bridge. Wonderful!

What was even more wonderful was what awaited when I got home. My darling, my love, my other half - my gorgeous roommate Emilia (or Boba, Porr-Puh, Natascha. Use whichever one you prefer.), has supercleaned the whole apartment!! It looks like when we just moved in, in september, only better!

Emilia, I am lost for words. Love you! (And am definetely coming to sip cocktails with you later!)

The reason I felt I had to cross a bridge,

gorgeous or gorgeous?

My hatelist

1. Getting up early in the morning
2. Getting up early in the morning
3. Strangers standing to close to me
4. Getting up early in the morning.

There's another couple of things on there too, but as you may have noticed, waking up early is not one of my favorite things to do.

This is what I look like before eight o'clock in the morning.
Not happy.

The silence of the goats

Just got home from the cinema and I have one thing to tell you - if you have any sense of humour at all, you need to go see The men who stare at goats right now!

In a salle full of frenchies I was the only person who laughed, which only made it all the more fun. Seriously though, don't miss this!

Good good morning!

Is there anything better than waking up to a clearblue sky and 15 degrees of spring-air outside? Also, my cramps seem to have taken a break (they're probably on vacation in this lovely weather), so I can actually move around from my bed!

What are you doing on this lovely day my sweets? Or maybe you're in cold and grey Sweden? Anything fun going on there?

I'm gonna go out and taste the fresh air, maybe even buy myself an ice-cream!

Silent night

I'm giving soup and a piece of toast a try, since my tummy feels awfully empty after three days of starvation. Wish me luck!

Also, I saw this picture - made me smile.

Talk to you later my darlings

The not so exquisite pain

Forget everything I said yesterday about getting better.

I just peeled myself of the bathroom floor where I passed out in mere exhaustion about 11 hours ago. I woke up in the middle of the night from a dream about being in some asian prison, being kicked in the stomach by a guard. Waking up and realizing the pain was real, the kicking would have felt like a relief.

Gonna crawl over to the fridge now to check if there's any coke left (emilia, if you're reading this - could you buy a bottle on the way home?) and then go pass out again.

Over and out.

Bridget, wanna switch?

A walk on the bright side

After a strengthening trip to Franprix (I made it!) I decided to take a long walk in the sun along the canal st martin. After strolling around for an hour I definitely feel a bit more alive - I find it relaxing to watch all of the people spending a lazy sunday afternoon in the sun; parents playing with their kids, couples holding hands, friends sharing a picnic and tourists waving from boats.

Some days I can't believe how lucky I am to live in such a gorgeous city.

One step at the time

These last 36 hours I have not been able to move in greater extent that in between the bed and the bathroom. The only thing I have been able to do is sleep - and try not to think about things that makes my stomach turn. For example food and having to stand up long enough to have a cold shower.

I woke up about an hour ago - to the pleasant surprise that my cramps have moved down a notch, yay! I was actually able to make it to the shower and wash off, and now I might even go down to franprix (thank god there's one next door) and get something to eat.

I feel a new beginning closing in, wish me luck!

Spring in Paris!

My day started out in the worst way possible. Fish leaving for london, and me staying in Paris - with a fever.

Things picked up in the afternoon though, I find it hard to be in a bad mood when the temperature is reaching 17 degrees and you can literally feel spring in the air.
And also, who could possibly stay sick for too long on a friday? Time for dinner, drinks and dancing!
Last night was unusually quiet for a thursday - dinner, movie and a couple of beers at the rosbif. Still had a very nice time though!

Robbed!

15:50 - Really hungry, gotta run into franprix before I hop on the metro to work!
15:55 - In line with a sandwich and coke, should be on the metro for work now - panic!
16:05 - Still in line, some dude is trying to pay with a check and it's not working, panic panic! (and hungry hungry!)
16:10 - Finally on my way, and finally get to take a bite of my delicious sandwich, woho!
16:13 - Homeless guy gets on the train, keep on chewing on the sandwich, ignore ignore.
16:14 - Oh crap, he's stopping right next to me. He's moving closer, waaah! Keep munching on the sandwich and pretend not to see him!
16:14½ - Chew chew.... he's taking my sandwich! From my hand - from my mouth!

16:16 - Homeless guy gets off the train, phew! Look at the other people on the train... abouth three other people are staring and at about the same time - everyone breaks out in a loud laugh!

(16:17 - shit... I'm still really hungry...!)

Back to basics

Wake up in the morning feeling like... shit. My head is pounding, I have a stamp from the highlander on my right boob and I apparently went home from the bar(s) sans panties - but with an extra ten euros in my wallet. And no - I am not a hooker. I just needed the extra money. Haha.

Great night though, our classic round: frog & princess, café oz, highlander and pub st michel. Now, off to work and then out on the town again! 'Cause tonight, damn right, I might do it again!

Before the Highlander...

(..and Pub st Michel)

Lost in Paris

Never had time to post the promised video last night, since I spent most of the night wandering around - lost, and very much alone, until my rescuing angel turned up - the streets of paris. About two hours after my go-out-for-a-beer-then-get-home-early-quest started I finally located my company. My mood was slightly enhanced by a big Long Island Ice tea and good company (and a kamikaze-shot..).

However - here is the awaited video - enjoy, my darlings! (and keep in mind, the original track on it was Heavy Fuel by Dire Straits, but YouTube wouldn't let me post that)

I'm back!

Finally the freebox-people decided to come through and provide us poor souls with internet at home - YAY!

Lots and lots have gone down since we last talked, and lots of changes are coming up. In le blog, and in le life. Biggest change you guys will notice (or probably already have) is that I'm giving english blogging a go - by popular demand.

Instead of boring you with a bunch of text I put together a little video for you to enjoy, it'll be up and running later tonight - so stay tuned!

Until then, welcome back all my dear readers, and a BIG welcome to all of you new ones!
