Au revoir mes amies

Alright guys - I decided that it's time for a new beginning.

I've had this blog since february 2008, and a lot of things have changed since then.

Not going to do a big dramatic goodbye, since the only difference for you guys will be to type in another adress - and be met by a slightly different (and improved) design.

So... without further a due, I give to you...

Heatwave

Just spent the hottest afternoon I've experienced in quite a while, on a pink blanket in Buttes Chaumont. Strawberries, rosé, skorpor and friends - lovely!

Now, quick stop at home for a much needed cold shower, and preparing of the next picnic!

(also relaxing a bit with my new best friend, the fan)

Sweet Hannah and Sarah in the heat...

Timing

Life really is all about timing - isn't it? Being at the right place at the right time, hopefully with the right person as well. Not long ago this guy told me he was sorry for the way he had treated me, and he also said he wished we had met at another time. Something that would probably have made our relationship to something completely different than it was.

A couple of weeks ago I met this wonderful girl called Holly - we've met a couple of times since that first night, and last night was the first time the two of us got a real opportunity to sit down and talk, and realize how much we have in common!

Last night was also Hollys last night in paris.. of course. As I said, timing really is everything. Now I'm off to drown my sorrows on a picnic-blanket in Buttes Chaumont, talk to you lovers later!

Sun & clouds

The weather's going completely schizofrenic over here - last night I was at a BBQ (thanks marcel!) until 5 in the morning, wearing only a light dress; today it's grey and I feel like putting on a big sweater and jeans.

What's happening with my sunny summer??

Hopefully someone will want to go eat chicken wings with me tonight, and everything will be better.

Phew.

Check it out!

These posters are all over the metro, Siobhan - I'm so happy for you!!!

Sweden

In sweden we dance around a huge pole covered in flowers, and pretend that we are frogs - and we listen to this kind of music all summer. No joke.

Anyone else have anything fun to share about their home country?

Update: just re-discovered this old classic!

Surprise!

This week seems to be full of surprises - mostly from my own part!

This, my friends, is what I'm having for dinner:

... And I'm actually enjoying it!

(Yes, I would have prefered regular coke, but the diet one was the only thing I found in the fridge.. sorry phil!)

A day of firsts

Today something unusual happened. Something that does not happen every day, something that made me very proud...

I had breakfast!

Today:

About 1000 mosquito bites, the cutest 2 year-old in town, libanese food (yes mom, I thought of you!), blurry memories of last night, trying not to melt in the sun, one beer at WOS, Tamarama, hugs with Rudy and a walking to the last metro in a sleepy haze.

How was your sunday?

I <3 my job

Sunbathing at the tennisclub, long swim in the pool, Häägen Dazs with young Luca and a free taxi-ride home - just another day at the office!

Busy day tomorrow, so I'm off to bed - goodnight my darlings!

Text of the day:

"Bring a bathing suit today!"

Tu me manques

I've been feeling pretty low all day, the sun helped a little bit and the fact that I don't have to get up at 7 tomorrow helps a little bit too.

But what really helped me get out of the worst stage of my gloom, was this message when I got home:

"Ami" was the first word I learned in french
I don't need to understand it all.
I don't need cable tv.
I don't need to wait for the weekend.
I don't need to chat.
...I need to return.
I need Paris
I need France.
You.

Love, I need you too - time to book a flight back!

Mairie des Lilas, baby

Took a walk along memory lane the other night, and stumbled apon dear Emilias old bachelor pad! Can't count how many insane nights we started and ended in that place last summer...

Wake up, time to die!

88 days to go until the 13th of September - also known as the day I will be the happiest and most excited person walking the face of the earth.

I got tickets to go see Guns n' Roses!!!

To dad!

I know it's a little bit late, but this was the first chance I got, here you go dad!

Bad news

Internet at home down - again.

Let's see how long it lasts this time...

hasta la vista. Baby.

Père-Lachaise

Spent the sunny afternoon strolling around Père Lachaise, very peaceful and beautiful. After a while we got so hungry we almost joined the dead though...

Sunday

Spent the whole day in Buttes Chaumont, with a lot of sun and a couple of beers.

I developed a tiny crush on the guy next to us who fell asleep with a glass of red wine in his hand.. haha!

Now
- off to the Seine for drinks, then a birthday party!

Visitor

The worlds best Sophia is in town!!!

Spent the night in Grands Boulevards, got home early this morning, we've slept a couple of hours and now we're off to go picnic in Buttes Chaumont - life is good.

Happy happy happy

My darling friend Sophia just texted, saying she's landed in Paris - wohooo!!

About an hour ago Emilia texted, saying she's getting off from work earlier tonight, so we're gonna go pick her up and then go out, all three of us!

Could this day be any better????

How I spent my whole afternoon.. I'm just a big bundle of love today!
