Bad news

Internet at home down - again.

Let's see how long it lasts this time...

hasta la vista. Baby.

Père-Lachaise

Spent the sunny afternoon strolling around Père Lachaise, very peaceful and beautiful. After a while we got so hungry we almost joined the dead though...

Sunday

Spent the whole day in Buttes Chaumont, with a lot of sun and a couple of beers.

I developed a tiny crush on the guy next to us who fell asleep with a glass of red wine in his hand.. haha!

Now
- off to the Seine for drinks, then a birthday party!

Visitor

The worlds best Sophia is in town!!!

Spent the night in Grands Boulevards, got home early this morning, we've slept a couple of hours and now we're off to go picnic in Buttes Chaumont - life is good.

Happy happy happy

My darling friend Sophia just texted, saying she's landed in Paris - wohooo!!

About an hour ago Emilia texted, saying she's getting off from work earlier tonight, so we're gonna go pick her up and then go out, all three of us!

Could this day be any better????

How I spent my whole afternoon.. I'm just a big bundle of love today!

Friday, I'm in love

Dinner by the Seine, preparty at Camilles place, drinks at Frog XVI and dancing - guess where?
Of course, Café Oz!

Thursday

It's thursday night - what better is there to do than to go out dancing?

A wednesday night in GB

As you know, I wasn't really feeling on top of the world yesterday. The melancholy still comes and goes, but having gotten two pretty great news today, it's taking a little holiday.

Something else that makes my world a lot sunnier is my lovely friends, who took me out last night. During my 2 and a half years in Paris, I've underestimated the bars around Grands Boulevards!

Any night (or day) that starts with beer by the Seine can't be too bad

Me, my darlings and a mysterious frenchie dressed in blue

Emilia was a true gentleman and bought us roses

And on the way home I swiped Duncans velib to take if for a little spin...

After a couple of drinks, a bit of tabledancing, pretty roses and a biketour along rue st denis me and emilia took a long (barefoot) walk through the parisian night.

Fell asleep with a smile on my face !

Melancholy

I've been hit by this awful feeling of melancholy quite often lately. The sun is shining, but I might as well just sit inside and stare at a wall, and hope that the sky doesn't fall down over my head.

I'm been worrying a lot. About myself, about my bankaccount, about my brother.

I have nothing good to say today. I'll let the white stripes (and gorgeous kate moss) speak for me.

Snoozer

It's just past 11 o'clock and I'm falling asleep in my favorite chair. Might even go brush my teeth and crawl in to bed with a book.. can't remember the last time I went to bed before midnight, without being sick and passing out on the bathroom floor, that is.

Am I getting old?

Nighty night loves

Tropical dreams

It's funny how certain smells can remind you so strongly of certain places, and people. The sun is once again beaming over Paris, and I've just buttered myself up in last summers sunscreen.

If I close my eyes I can almost feel the sand between my toes, the salt from the water sticking to my hair and hear the sounds of waves crashing in against the shore.

What I wouldn't give to lay on a sandy beach on some tropical island right now - preferably with a fruity cocktail in my hand and soft music playing in the background..

José took me and the girls to his familys place(s) in

Torrevieja, Spain, last summer.

Heaven!

You've got mail

Me and Emilia agree on a lot of things; but one point where we go completely seperate ways is our attitude towards our mailbox. I'm not sure she has ever recieved anything she was supposed to get on this adress, so if she one day found a letter adressed to her she would probably hop to the ceiling out of pure joy.
Me, on the other hand, get an amazing amount of disturbing, and very much un-wanted mail.
I had a complete nervous breakdown today, tears, nausea and all, when I opened yet another envelope from the bank.

Now
- shower, chips and Mary Poppins. (not all at the same time)

And no checking the postbox for a couple of days. Phew.

Two troublefree nine-year-olds keeping the watch this afternoon

Dimanche après-midi

I just had the best day in a long time! Sunbathing in parc monceau, mcdonalds on the champs and Alice in Wonderland - in 3D of course. I've been waiting for that movie for years, and I absolutely loved it. Tim Burton + Johnny Depp is a combo that simply can't miss..

finished the evening with a lovely stroll along the champs elysées, in a nothing but a dress and a light jacket. Now I'm gonna make Emilia watch The wizard of Oz with me,

ciao for now loves!

Samedi après-midi

I just spent a lovely couple of hours in the sun with my darling Camille. We strolled around the Marais, wandered in to countless stores and took a breather by the Seine. Our romantic afternoon ended abruptly when a bird decided to use my pants (and Camilles bag) as his personal bathroom..

Last night my favourite pair of jeans gave up and split by the seems, and today this. Either I have to sow, clean, buy new pants - or go out like this tonight..

About 2 minutes before my traumatic bird-experience

Habits

Human beings are creatures of habits - that's why none of you will be surprised to learn that we spent our friday night at the rosbif, only to go on to Café Oz and finish the night with a grec..

Simon just became a proud father to baby Lucas,

and Arnaud is... well, arnaud!

All that glitters

If you know me at all, you know that I'm a sucker for anything that glitters or sparkles. That's why I felt that these shoes were calling my name when I walked into the store...

Ignorance is bliss

Today I decided to coldly ignore the panic that is slowly welling up inside of me. Woke up earlier than usual, took a long hot shower, had oatmeal and coffee for breakfast. Now I'm planning to squeeze in a bit of shoeshopping before work..

xoxo

Snow globes, stress and some sunshine

Everything is starting to feel more and more turned upside down. You know like those snow globes - when you shake them and everything goes flying around without any goal or purpose at all. Well, let's just say, someone just shook my snow globe.

Tonight I'm home alone and not doing anything - which only gives my mind more space to start spinning too quickly. I leave you with some very peaceful pictures from my day, before I get all too wired over here.

Ciao!

Dreaming

You know when you have those great dreams that you just don't want to wake up from? I had one of those this morning. I remember every detail, and I'm sure I'll walk around with this dreamy feeling all day..

I am also going to have this song stuck in my dreamy head all day...

(do watch the video, it's really funny)

Springtime, and the living is easy

My blog-inspiration has been slightly lower than usual these latest couple of days. I feel like there's not much to write about at the moment, all I do is work, party, watch movies (+ entourage) and enjoy the lovely springweather.

Now I'm going to go stand by the window and watch the sun set. Love love!

Late nights, empty glasses

One thing I love about going out in Paris is that, even if you don't start until 3 in the morning - you can still have a long and fun night! That, my friends, is what we did last night.

Now I'm sitting on our couch, apathetically wondering what to do all afternoon.

My mind is blank.

I heart Paris in springtime

Last night we started by doing one of the things I love most about living in Paris - picnic by the Seine!

Then we strolled along rue st denis (the non-hooker part of it) to the rosbif for cocktails

With Gary the magician!

And Rich!

Then we tagged along with the guys to Next, which comfortably enough is practically next doors

Then we snatched Rich and Mike to dance away the last dark hours at dear old Café Oz

It was a good; no wait - a great friday!

Thursday

Partystarter

Last night my night started with beer, a lollipop and a marriage proposal - tonight we're kicking of with piña coladas!

I love lists

Since the last time we spoke (11 hours ago to be exact) I have done the following:

- Fallen asleep on the couch.
- Dreamt of the Highlander. I felt pretty pathetic when I woke up.
- Had oatmeal, coffee and greek youghurt for brunch (I'd love to have written breakfast, but I'm not quite that grown up yet)
- Listened to Counting Crows, I am just realizing just how many good songs they've made!
- Not done the dishes (see, not that grown up. And roomie, sorry! I'll do them when I get home in exchange for some vino.. deal?)
- Watched the episode of Seinfeld where Kramer and Newman makes sausages in Jerry's kitchen (Clapton, that one's dedicated to you)
- Put on my Rolling Stones t-shirt and decided to wear the leather jacket today, after looking out to the grey sky.

Nighty night!

Great gig, beers at the rosbif, dancing at café oz and troubles at the highlander - just another wednesdaynight in paris!

Sleep tight loves, see you tomorrow - after a long sleep-in...

P'tit saturday

Quick stop at home for a cup of noodles and switching of shoes - the rain just started trickling outside, but that's not going to stop me from having a great night!

Happy wednesday!

Spent most of this warm day at the tennisclub with young Agnès, my little tennis-starlet!

Live from the couch

My night is surprisingly un-awful - turns out, crackers with chèvre and a Seinfeld-marathon is never dull!

Also, I got myself some plans for tomorrow; Guillaumes gig with my handsome friend Rudy, all decked out in his finest. Looking forward to a highly decadent evening. Must now return to my crackers.

Love!

Boredom comes in many shapes

Just got home from work, the sun is slowly setting over this beautiful city and the apartment is quiet. Emilia is at work, and I'm getting up early tomorrow - so no barhopping for me tonight.

What to do... what to do now. I gotta feeling, that tonight's gonna be a long looong night..

See - I'm already on the floor with an Eiffel-tower on my forehead. This night is doomed.

Tuesday

I woke up to a clearblue sky and the sun in my eyes - plus a complete lack of voice. It's always something, right?

Anyway - off to work, with a big coffee in hand and Train in my iPod. Have a good afternoon loves!

Le Marais

I spent my afternoon doing one of my favorite things to do when I'm bored and alone - strolling around in Marais.

Todays thoughts:
American Retro is horribly overpriced, the Zadig&Voltaire-boutiques smell lovely and I am simply unable to walk out of a friperie empty handed...

Oh - and I just discovered a beautiful blog full of gorgeous Paris-pictures; check it out!

I wanted to show you guys my new sailor girl-top, but it's a tad too sunny. Lovely!

Poverty-tip of the day!

Sitting on the couch with a steaming cup of coffee, wondering what to make of my day. Might go out and torture myself by looking at a bunch of beautiful clothes I can't by, or go look at the movie-posters I can't afford to go see - or why not stop by a café I can't afford to have coffee in?

I leave you with some pics from last night, remember - you're never too broke to have a great nightlife!

Happy easter!

Easter sunday

I'm not sure how I slept last night, apparently not very well, since I cannot for anything in the world turn my head to the left.. other than that, life is good. Spent some quality time with my darling friend Camille last night, met an old friend at the housewarming-party and chatted away for while before heading out to one of our old favourites, finished the night by picking emilia up and going home to watch Seinfeld.

Looks like Paris is storming up today as well, so I'll be spending another day chez nous, with a big cup of coffee.

Rainy days

The world outside is grey and gloomy, so I'm staying inside - with candy and the kooples!

Incoming, outgoing.

I just waved goodbye to mom who's off to the airport, yesterday I went to a goodbye-party and tonight an old friend who just got back to Paris is having a moving in-party. People really do come and go in this city.

Looks like I'll be one of the people who stick around for a while.

Since last we spoke I've been up to all kinds of fun
, including yoga-class ~ hanging out with fish ~ shopping ~ eating amazing libanese food ~ dancing it up at café oz ~ having one drink too many at the highlander (or was it pub st michel?) ~ sneezing ~ making new friends ~ having fresh coffee and fresh baguettes for breakfast ... and the list goes on!
